Bio

London based artist, Jenny Smith (born 1987, Reading, UK) finished the post graduate programme at The Royal Drawing School in 2012 after completing her BA in Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Jenny’s work is underpinned by a combination of extensive drawing in the landscape and from the imagination and is predominantly made on paper. She uses mixed media and collage to harness the rhythmical structures of any given environment and its inhabitants. She is interested in mark making and the potential it offers to deconstruct reality and describe movement through space. Cut out elements help weave narratives and places together to give the work a dreamlike, theatrical quality.
